Negotiating house price after making an offer

as I said earlier , I am familiar with type of houses because I was trying to get one of them for a while. It is a small development and I have seen one before and made an offer but was not accepted and didn't even get to negotiate because another buyer put in a better offer. The house details mentioned that the dining room down stairs has double glazing windows I thought all of them are . I went back two days ago with the state agent to get the measurements for cutrains that is when I paied attention to the problem . I talked to the next door neiboughers and was told that most houses in the development had to replace their windows at some point they were not originally double glazing. this property was not used as residential.The survey is done and I am waiting for report but that doesn't mean what ever it comes up with , will help to solve this problem.0

In the current house price market where houses are either not even being sold or house prices are coming down I think you can make another offer - £3k less than your original before you have the results of the survey but I would do it quickly. This would cover the cost of most of the double glazing and you can have any more done out of your disposable income in the future. Also do you know if there are any other interested parties? I'm not sure how you would find this out as EA always say there are 'others queuing up'.0

Obviously, as others have stated, the mistake is entirely yours and you can not use it as a bargaining tool.
Depending on how desperate the seller is though, you might be able to slightly reduce the price by being honest and admiting your own mistake.
Get a quote first and try to meet half way.
If you shop around, windows are not that expensive any more (obviously, the price will vary depending on where you live) but you can get 8 windows replaced for under or around 3K.
Other option is - postpone something else you were going to do or get a slightly higher mortgage if you can.too foreign for diplomatic or PC answers, too poor for a sig0 -
We have just made an offer on a house and the paper work started but the sale is not finalised yet. I went back today to get some measurements for the curtains but realised that the windows were not double glazed. When I looked back at the Advert it did mention that the one room down stairs have a doule glazing ,may be that is why i assumed all of them.Is it possible to still negotiate that off the price before the sale is final. If yes would that be through the lawyers or the agency???/// Advice please iam a first time buyer.
As the others have said it is a mistake from your part as you did not look closely enough before making an offer YET if you think that you are over paying for the property because of that mistake. At the end of the day I'd rather upset a seller rather than over paying my property by 10K especially nowadays.
I would open a frank discussion with the sellers, they might take it badly but you have to think of yourself first, buying a property is a business transaction and you should be ready to walk away if you think that the deal is not good for you anymore.0
