No claims discount

I had previously been insured with HSBC but last year, ESure provided an unbeatable quote so I changed insurer. My renewal is now due and ESure's offer is not unbeatable, The AA offer a very competitive alternative.

When I switched, I had to jump through hoops to prove I had more than 9 years No Claims Discount to secure the preferential terms. Now, The AA have observed that ESure's renewal offer is based on "5 years or more" for the discount therefore my competitive alternative quote has been increased by £160! In effect, I have lost 5 years NCD!!!!

How can this be right? What can I do??

  • Ask E-sure for written confirmation of the full claims free record.

Your previous insurers may also provide it.

If push comes to shove, you make a Data Subject Access request. However this can take up to 40 days and cost you £10.
