Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could help me, I booked some flights on my credit card with a company called air asia. I can no longer go away as my grandad lives with me and I care for him. He has been diagnosed with cancer and so aquires alot of help and so I can no longer go away and leave him, as he now needs constant 24 hour care.
I have checked with the company and they do not refund flights, also my credit card I booked it on says they cannot help as I haven't got travel insurance on it. Stupidly I also did't book travel insurance before booking the flights, I don't know what I was thinking but lesson learnt.
I have resided myself to the fact I have lost the money and the flight as it is far more important to be at home, but I didn't know if there are any options I may have not tried yet? It was quite alot of money and this is a long shot but if you don't ask you never know
thanks again in advance,
merry christmas

Sorry to say but your 3 options are re-schedule or at a push get the tax back on the flight, or, depending on the cost, try and sell the flights on, but a full refund is a non-starter.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Why not try writing to Air Asia's head office explaining exactly what has happened.
If you let them know why you had to cancel and that you fully understand that their terms and conditions do not normally allow for a refund, but you were wondering if they might be willing to make an exception, you may just be lucky and find that the letter gets to someone with a bit of feeling rather than someone who just goes by the company line, especially as an awful lot of asians and asian companies take family and family ties very seriously.
A bit of a long shot maybe, but for the sake of a 1st class stamp why not try?0 -
Its worth a punt writing in but dont be too suprised when you get a letter back saying "thats what travel insurance is for"Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

You should get your tax back but I think will have to wait till after the date you were due to fly. Even if you had insurance and cancelled the tax still has to be reclaimed direct from the airline concerned.0

Perhaps, try and see if they will give you a credit for a future flight.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
