Could some one advise please.
My existing processor is an AMD Athlon 2.15 gig.
I'd like to upgrade it to a dual core, as below.

I'm wondering if this will ok on my MB, which is a Asust A7N8X
And is it a strait forward mater of just swapping them over.

I have the same motherboard, you can only fit Socket A cpus, the absolute best you can get is the Athlon XP 3200 which they don't even make any more."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

If you want a dual core, or for that matter if you just want it to be a 64 bit processor you'll need to change your motherboard as well."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I've currently got XP 1800 (1.5GHz) and have been contemplating upgrading for a while but athlon xp processors are like gold dust and really expensive for what they are. But I'll have to save up quite a bit to change everything I need to for a motherboard upgrade."She is quite the oddball.
