Google/safe sites

When 'googling'(most times) i see a green 'tick' at the right of the thousands of websites it finds to assure the googler that these sites are 'safe'..

Ive noticed that sometimes(today for example) when i am googling there are no green ticks.

If anyone knows what i am rambling on about and can advise the reason or how to ensure the ticks appear gain i would be grateful.

    Just install WOT (Web of Trust) for whatever browsers you may be using.

    The 'green ticks' are used by an anti virus program

    As we dont know what you use its hard to say, but my guess is its AVG as AVG is notorious for not working properly

    Rik,yes it is avg..and the ticks have reappeared depending on what i am searching for.You are right it does seem hit and miss but it seems to be a good idea.

    Problem being that AVG is awful at detecting dodgy scripts, so it will certainly miss a lot

    Your be better using FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plug in or a SANDBOXIE
