Hi all
I have just spoken to A&L for some info on my account and apparently because i own a premier account i'm entitled to a free meeting with one of there advisors about investments and my account. For an incentive to go they will pay me £25..they mentioned this will take about 60 to 90minutes for the meeting and the payment will be made 6-8 weeks after the meeting.
Got to be worth doing.
My meetings all arranged for November..
Ring now and find out more.
Hope this helps others.
Sorry if this has been mentioned anywhere but couldn't see anything regarding this!

Hi Richie,
I've done this and it only took half an hour - they just go over your finances and see if they can offer you anything. They offered me some investment portfolios and said I could get a further £50 if I actually took one of the products but to be honest I'd only gone to the meeting for the £25 so I didn't really look too hard at their portfolios. It's definitely worth going along to for the money though.

Problem with Alliance & Leicester is they haven't grasped their own concept of internet banking. I live 100 miles from nearest branch so opened an internet account, I am however constantly being told to 'pop into the branch' when there is a problem (always of their making). Also they will not extend their offers and incentives to anyone who can't get into a branch. Why call itself an internet bank? I've had enough of poor service, lack of call backs, misinformation and incompetence from them. I'm looking for a new internet bank. Any suggestions?0

I'd recommend first direct, as the best bank I've ever dealt with. They have excellent customer service, their internet banking is really good, and you can phone them up 24/7 and speak to a real person (in England). With every bank things can go wrong, but the true test of an organisation is how well they deal with those things that go wrong, and first direct are excellent for this.
On a separate issue, they are also doing a £50 sign up incentive at the moment, it was only £25 when I joined.......Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
My £25 just arrived in the Plus Saver account after 60 days.
Still got to be good value if you live near a branch, the reveiw only took less than 30 minutes.:T0 -
