Redundancy and returning to carryout some work as a consultant

HI
I am being made redundant form a company where I have been working part-time along with have work as a self employed consultant. There is a possibility of some consultancy work in the future with the company (along with work elsewhere). Where do I stand with any future work with the company. I had been told that there would need to be a break of time before this could happen? if I am doing other consultancy work would this actually make any difference. Would be easier just to resign! My redundancy money is quite small as I have not been with the company very long. Your thoughts would be helpful.
Cheers

I have a relative who did this!

He went back as a consultant but on his terms and he charged a silly fee £2k, that was a few years back, and he got it!

Whether it was out of desperation on their behalf I don't know but he stuck to his guns cos he knew his worth :T

    Good luck.

ps, he made a tidy sum off it.
Be happy, it's the greatest wealth :)

No problem with the senario you describe just start invoicing for the work you do for them from your consultancy business.

If you want to be ultra save just make the consultaion work sound different to the part time one you were doing amd leave a week or two before you do any work for them.

You can be reemployed immediately by a company and it not effect redundacy if the reasons for both are genuine.

There is no time limit allthough companies need to be carefull they don't end up giving continuity of employment, a full(Sat-Sat)week break is needed, so oftem impse terms.
