All Saints dispute

Just take them to the small claims court, make sure you warn them first though in a registered letter.0
-
Just send an LBA with your reasoning and request a full refund.
If the items are less than 6 months old the onus is on the store to prove they aren't inherently faulty.
Well thats what i would do...
yes. but this is over 6 months old so that doesnt apply.
also think very carefully about the small claims thing first. The onus is now on you to prove its a manufacturing fault and that you didnt tear it yourself."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

I presume you are looking at the OP rather than the post by "iblametheparents" which every body else is responding to. His clothes are only 2 months old.0 -

She left a message explaining that my statement couldn't be used as proof of purchase because it only stated 'Selfridges' and not 'AllSaints'. And also that it was outside their 6 month returns policy, and that their terms and conditions are on their website.
She didn't mention anything about what Phill had said to me, and made no apology for the fault, or for their mix up in asking me to send it in.
I haven't responded yet.
Where exactly is that 6 month returns policy on their website? I would stop buying from them except I like their clothes too much. I'm not buying another grey t-shirt from them ever again though, they fade so badly.
I would also think the Sales of Goods Act took precedent over their terms & conditions!0 -

On checking, I see that there is a "Terms and Conditions" link on their internet shopping website. There's no mention of the 6 month policy there.
There's also a "Returns" link, leading to a section titled "Store Returns"
Not only is there no mention of the 6 month return policy - it actually says this:
"If any item purchased is not of a satisfactory quality please return the item with the receipt where possible to an AllSaints standalone store where a refund will be issued if appropriate."
So it seems that customer services are telling me something quite different from the information on their website.0 -

That's why I asked, because I've been through their terms & conditions and couldn't find it anywhere!0 -
What customer service in all saints? I see im not the only one to have trouble. After my last visit I can safely say I will definitely not be buying in the place again.
I bought some Jeans for my bf in the sale last week, after asking the guy in the shop if they didnt fit could I have my money back he replied "well yeah as long as you have your receipt" what a pile of rubbish this is he blatantly lied or had no idea of the policy.
I personally do not shop in the store but my bf does so not once have I ever bought and returned something until this occasion so had no idea of the policy. This is why I asked the sales assistant to confirm before buying. The only shop I know which does not offer refunds is debenhams sale if item is under 70% or 75% disc. I run my own concession in a store so would say im quite clued up with customer service/returns etc.
However upon returning the jeans to the store the following week I was told they could only offer an exchange or credit note which is no good to me as I do not shop there myself and I was told I could have my money back by the guy in the first place. Anyways the manager got involved and told me it was impossible for her to give me a refund they need approval from customer services. Well she trotted off to apparently call them and 5 mins later came back to say she couldn't get through but she would keep trying. I went back on my lunch hr and was told the manager was on her lunch too but still couldnt get through and that was that.
The next day I went back again (surprise surprise the manager was off!) another girl spoke to me to say that they had not managed all day to get through and there was nothing she could do. After having a small rant she offered me customer services which to be honest I dont thing I should have to ring myself. I got through instantly on a saturday to the guy at customer services so I firmly believe she didnt even try at the shop. Apparently head office will issue a refund if I post him the jeans with my receipt. Why he could not just ring the store and say look give the refund is beyond me, if I had pulled the button off and walked in they would have had to by law give the refund so why didnt they just do it and save the faff to keep their customers happy. Have a bit of discression guys!!
Message to all saints- if you are going to have such a crappy policy in store at least train the staff to state this when asked about returns or even mention it at the till before paying. (the guy on the phone was actually quite nice though so 1/10 for all saints) Well done people:T0 -
I've received word back from Jewel, they aren't refunding or giving me a gift card as gesture of goodwill so I'll be starting a claim online. Does anyone have any advice as this will be the first time I have started a claim.
The silly thing is I also sent a 4th item back, a faded tshirt, with the LBA for the previous three items and I got a gift card as compensation for that!0 -
Looks like you've been the victim of an overpriced and generally poor quality clothing store, OP.
My friend used to work for them and told me that the clothing was awful quality. She got heavily discounted clothing as uniform and she said much of it only lasted a couple of months. A thin summer cardigan she had ripped all the way down one side on the second wear! Funnily enough I also remember her mentioning how unfair she thought the returns policy was and how they were encouraged to keep it quiet- she used to tell people that it was exchange only when she was on the till and as a result many customers would change their mind. Her boss pulled her to one side and threatened her with the sack if she kept telling people!
I stopped shopping there about 3 years ago during the sale. I saw a gorgeous belt marked down with the sale price written in pen, exactly the same as all the other stuff on sale. It was a good price for that shop but not ridiculously cheap. When I took it to the till the staff member refused to sell it to me at that price, saying that 'someone must have come into the shop and written that on as it can't possibly be that cheap'. Even when I showed him an item in the sale legitimately and compared the handwriting and pen which was identical he still wouldn't have it and wouldn't let me buy it.
I would never set foot into that shop again.0
