7 Years ??? , seriously though I do think 2010 is much better then 2007 bit like Win7 vs Vista, and wifey still has to use '03 for work and she prefers 2010 which makes me wonder:cool:

2007 and 2010 differ significantly in look and functionality from 2003 however I reckon not all that many users need the newer features and even though 2003 is some years old it is a perfectly workable solution and you have no need to shell out for a new version if you are happy with it.
  • I work for a local authority and they have a deal with microsoft for staff and I bought microsoft office professional for £8.95, it was £10 extra for the dvd.
    What a bargain:j

If you want to save your money you could use Open Office instead.
  • cheers for all the replies...think I'll shell out for the latest version...it can last me another 7 years then :)

Printing and print preview is nicer /easier

    Recovery of documents is better,

if you forget to save a document, it autosaves x amount of minutes (and you can open previous versions, even 5 versions ago)

If you open an excel /word document, and go to close out and it prompts to save , if you say no , then realise you where meant to save it, in previous versions tough luck, in the new versions it autosaves . So you can open a document you forgot to save.

Possbily more, but these are the main ones i picked up on.
  • You can actually enable autosave within both office 2003 and 2007 by going into the options and ticking the option then setting the time.

Problem with Open Office is that it's not totally compatible with Excel or Word Files. I tried it and all my stuff needed the pages
re-formatted so I stayed with MS
