Help!!!!!!!!
I went to my local retail park and received a 'parking charge notice' from ukpc (uk parking control ltd), I have been to this retail park hundreds of times and most of the time i'm in a rush, just like today, i pulled into a taxi/pick up point area (which isn't blocking/harming/restricting anyone) to run into jd sports for literally 10mins as i had to collect an item that i had on hold and when i came out i had a 'parking charge notice' slapped on my car saying a parking charge of £90 is payable within 28 days. a reduced charge of £50 is payable if payment is received within 14 days.
somebody help!!
What do i do?? i live with my parents and don't want to bring trouble to their door!

What you do is ignore these people, you do not owe them a penny. For further reassurance please read all the other threads on here that deal with private parking "tickets".
As for somebody turning up" at the door, the law does not work like that. For bailiffs to come on the scene, the case has to go to court (very unlikely) you lose (very, very unlikely) and then you don't pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days.
Please don't confuse bailiffs (who are "officers of the court") with debt collectors. The latter are just private citizens with no special powers. They cannot enter your property, they cannot seize goods and they cannot blacken your credit-record over an alleged private parking "offence".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
so i just ignore this notice then??
I just don't want anybody turning up at my parents door because iv'e ignored it?
I read a thread on here of a case in oldham in which a guy got taken to court and fined thousands...... but to be honest that is the only thread like that i have read the rest have been the same advise as you have given.
Thanks!!0 -
I repeat, just ignore. It's as simple as that. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

The Oldham case is the only one the PPCs can drag up. It is widely considered that it could have been set up. Even if it wasn't the case has no relevance.
Ignoring them and subsequent contact will soon see them move to someone else who may pay.0 -
Ignore any letters but do not become frightened by threats to visit your home or take you to court, It will not happen. Post again for reassurance if you become worried by anything.
Once all this has passed without any trouble to yourself and your parents, get payback by telling all your friends that private PCNs are legally unenforeceable.
Put the money you have saved towards enjoying ChristmasStill waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0 -
Have we got any links of cases lost by PPcs to reassure the OP? Mine were lost when the hard disk on my last laptop failed.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Not sure there's enough space on the page for all the OPC ones.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
