Slightly unrelated - when I want to watch you tube clips or listen to music on spotify the clip or song usually stops part way through. Is this anything to do with the space or just the basic laptop?

Transfer from C to D drive is simple copy and paste (and then delete on C drive) or Cut and paste. Dont move system files. If you are unsure stick to moving photos + videos + songs (which should be bulk of your storage anyway)...

Problem with videos playing might be a problem with your internet connection rather than a basic laptop (lmore likely that aptop would either play it or wont play rather than just stopping half way)

Buy a portable Hard Drive to store photographs and seldom used files.

And just because nobody has mentioned it yet - you should have a separate backup of all your music and photos, etc.

External hard drive, DVD,, USB stick, whatever - just so that when your laptop drive dies you won't have lost everything...
