You seem to forget that this is not a board for members of NATFHE! Wanting students to get loaded with debt doesn't seem to fit in with MSE's ethos.
Unfortunately it's statements like that, are what gives MSE a bad name.
You should learn the difference between good debt and bad debt.

i think the new system fails everyone - students have more personal debt, unis have less money, the taxpayer doesn't save any money.....:happyhear0 -

Are you mad? Whether debt is good or bad it is always better to have less of it! Just because you think debt is "good" doesn't mean you should take on loads of it. Less is best dear. It's posters like you who give MSE a bad name by the way0 -

Are you deliberately missing the point? This is is a money saving website and this is a Student money saving board. It may be in your best interests for students to pay the maximum tuition fees as a lecturer (or whatever it is that you do) but it is not in students' best interests. So I'm not sure why you think it is OK to keep pushng the idea that tuition fees should be £9k, when it is very obviously in students' best interests that they are as low as possible.0 -

It isn't in students' best interests to have lower fees if this goes along with poor facilities, large classes and no resources.
I don't think that anyone is "pushing" the idea of higher fees, just being realistic about the likelihood of them.0 -

Well to be honest, I'm not sure that Exeter has that great a reputation so I'd be more than happy for my kids to go to an equivalent but cheaper Uni....0 -

My ex's siter went there to study History and Politics and is now training to be a lawyer, she's pretty smart.
But saying that, they don't have a computing department! Disappointing!0 -

You've obviously never been in DT!0 -

They are good for Politics and History but there are plenty of other Unis as good and better. The thing that stands out for me about Exeter is that employers don't target it for recruitment which I think is a big downside.
So if there was something cheaper it is unlikely that Exeter would be on a wish list.0 -

Another downside is that a Uni charging £9k is effectively at war with the government and therefore could suffer large funding cuts when your/our childen are in later years of their university life. A Uni charging £7k is likely to be in a more stable position.0
