Kitchen Fitters Adivice needed please.

Hi,

We have ordered a kitchen through b&q.

They are fitting it as well.

Now this thread isn't about that I know the perils of having them do it. However we got a fantastic deal they, price matched everything with the cheepest we could find and we have 5 years interest free credit.

With all the other work we are doing to the house this is the only way I can afford the kitchen.

So onto my question. they came out and mesured up the kitchen needs 1927mm to fit with a 19mm spacer pannel the only think I can see that can be removed. (The other dimensions have more room for manouver i.e. bigger spacer pannels.

The room is getting replastered. Because the walls are all over the place in terms of level I have hacked all the old plaster off back to the brick to give the plasterer more room for manuver when leveling things up.

Finally onto my question!! There is no doubt that once the kitchen has been leveled up we will lose the 19mm spacer. Is there any room for manouver when fitting the units or do we need exactly the right amount of space.

e.g. if the units add up to 1908mm which is - the 19mm spacer. Could it be fitted if say we had 1890mm after leveling?

I know this might sound daft but I doubt very much that we will get it level at exactly 1908mm!!

Will we need a redesign or are there work arounds?

Cheers D

Some extra info might help. We have an 800mm corner unit with 227mm of lost space in the corner. Could anything be gained here? I am guessing the door of the corner unit is the issue.

Cheers Andrew. Although there are nightmare stories I guess they also fit alot of kitchens without any issue. I am going to take time of work and watch them like a hawk. I am paying for a plumber so if they send a joiner to do the plumbers work I will tell them to stop work and get back to B&Q.

The issue with plastering to the level of the units is that I need to level the floor. so can't mesure where they are coming to. I think by far the best bet is to plaster and get them to come back and messure again sure we can change the design a little.

Thanks again. I am also going to ask B&Q for references for the fitters they are using. See what happens eh!

I have another question. How off in terms of the walls not being a 90 degrees to each other can a room be? Hope this makes sense!!
