I wouldnt worry too much, mail is being delayed.

But I would think more about how you do your banking.
Books are vulnerable to be be stolen which is what you are worrying about now.

If it is your savings why not set up internet banking.

Go into the branch anyway, take some ID with you and check your balance at the counter. Ask for some advice about interest rates, and put your money where it makes the most interest, if you are a tax payer it should really be in an ISA
you really shouldnt be using a book these days.

By the way, do you trust your dad implicitly.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

The Royal Mail recommends for this type of mail you use " Special Delivery" which is electronically tracked all the way with up to £2500 compensation. Clearly this was not used.

Special Delivey Next Day starts from £5.05.

I would go to your local Nationwide with ID and the account number.
Explain the situation, find out if there has been any activity on the account.

If there is you should be scaried stiff!

If all is ok ask for a tempory stop to be placed on the account until the book arrives. Maybe they would also transfer the funds into another account for you if your lucky and very worried.
