After a certain amount of time, (I'm not sure how long?) you have to apply everything - not just the 3 jobs listed on your JSAg.
Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
    50p saver #40 £20 banked
    Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.25
  • Can I just be clear here, is the following correct?

    1. You were asked to attend a volunteer work scheme.
    2. You were warned that failure to attend this scheme would result in your benefits being stopped.
    3. You did not attend the scheme.
  • The local women that do a lot of the Volunteer work found out that prisoners on day release were being used and most left Volunteering.

Now, I dont see what all this meandering has got to do with the question can the Government make you homeless by stopping payment of your JSA? If you really cant answer the question then im not interested in the sermons.

Oh my goodness, having to associate with a prisoner in a controlled and perfectly safe environment, the poor dears!

The only person that can make you homeless is you. Get a job or comply with your JSAgreement.
    Gone ... or have I?

Contact the Citizens Advice Bureau to double check but it seems that the DWP can sanction your JSA for six months for your failure to comply with its terms on the third occasion but they should not stop your HB or CT and you can submit a claim for hardship payments, despite the loss of JSA being self-inflicted.

You said in your OP "Thanks for any advice..." and you didn't actually ask a question so advice was given.

Anyway, the government or more accurately the DWP will stop payment of your JSA if you fail to meet the conditions for payment. They will not make you homeless as you are still eligible for Housing Benefits so you will still have a roof over your head. Not enough money to heat it or eat but you'll have your roof.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

    Fortunately, yes.

I'm 43 yo. I was told this was part of New Deal.

under no circumstances will i be sacrificing a Scientific Career to volunteering to pick up junk people are throwing out - broken sofas, washing machines and mending it for a pass-off. People can drive down to the local Tipping ground and do this for themselves if they really need it that badly.

    Thanks for any advice...

I actually had some sympathy with you until I read this daft post.

Though you claim to be highly educated. . . you do not seem to realise that money is money and it pays the bills however means you acquire it.

Lots of people have had to endure career changes during this awful recession, many having to take many awful low paid jobs but they've done it to put food on the table and pay the mortgage.

Why do you feel you are any different?
Be happy, it's the greatest wealth :)

Seeing as you seem unable to follow even simple instructions in relation to claiming JSA, I do not see where the bleating about "the government" making you homeless has come from.

You didn't do what was asked of you because you thought it beneath you, that much is obvious. Seems to me like you've had a sharp reality check.

Its about helping people get their entitlement!
    Not about benefits policy!
This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.
The previous 2 sanctions I wrote to Housing Benefit and told them that my claim was sanctioned and that I was not working and gave them my bank statements. They said this was irrelevant and advised me that my Housing Benefit would only be paid with a current JSA claim or Payslips from a Job.
If that is indeed the wrong advice then you should chase it up.
