in Credit cards
Hi,
This is my first post, on this wonderful place, so I help you can help me out. Please bear with me.
I have been out of work since March and have been unable to pay my loan company/ bank account/ credit card since. I was sacked due to a number of dissaplinary meetings, and complaints from customers about my work.
I have looked for a job since, but having left my last job under a cloud, due to a back injury/ bullying at the work place I really felt that I couldn't work in an office environment any longer. I considered myself to be mentally and physically effected because of this, and only just getting my life back on track as my body feels like my own again.
I even went as far as to try and take my old work place to court, due to the bullying I received from the manager and to prove that it was this that effected my back injury, which made it worse as it spread to my shoulders, neck, arms and legs.
As the chair I would spend all day in was old and broken, I was also advised to suggest that the chair I was provided with contributed to my injuries also. Even though I supplied all the parties concerned with all my doctors notes, and the various back specialists/ acupuncturist/ physiotherapists I saw, I could not prove that all this had contributed to me not being able to concentrate on my work, and was advised not to pursue the matter further, by a barrister.
As my insurance was stopped due to this fact, I could not actually take them to court, as it would off in all cost around 8k. Luckily all costs up to this point were covered by the insurance.
I digress.
The real reason I have sort help from you, is that as I have not been able to pay for my credit car/ loan/ bank account I have accumulated a lot of owed money to each of them. The egg card has a limit of 5100 on it. and I currently owe them 5991.34 due to over limit charges. There asking me to pay them 2k by the 30th of the month. My loan company is also asking for another 1600, by the end of the month, as the 7 month gestation period is over, or they will request the total amount, which is 8k. My bank account is 850 over drawn, which is also accumulating, charges on.
I have no job and no money to give these people. Other than going bankrupt, what the HELL am I going to do. I cant even enter to a dept consolidation as I have no money to give these people either.
And my girlfriend is pregnant. Every cloud has a silver lining I suppose
Please.. I need help.. Desperately

You need to contact a "professional" body such as CAB, CCCS, PayPlan or NationalDebtlineMy posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

Typically 12 months to be discharged. Then you're left with a severely impaired credit history, which you'll have to rebuild gradually over several years. 6 years after discharge it falls off your records completely.
If you have no job, assets or income, you have no other choice and nothing much to lose anyway.0 -
I would really like to get a few more opinions on the matter please0

will effect my getting a job in the future? what about renting a flat or even trying to get a mortgage?0

Well, you had an expert opinion from professionals who deal with this everyday and they advised you to declare bankruptcy. I'm not sure what you expect random strangers on an internet forum to suggest, but since you're so keen to field opnions, here are some more ideas:
1. Find a company that isn't put off by your history of malingering and get a job with them.
2. See if you can get paid for participating in medical research. Your remarkable back injury that is apparently sensitive to verbal criticism definitely warrants further study.
3. Deal drugs. It's very lucrative.
4. Have a word with your girlfriend. Pregnant !!!!!! pays very well so I hear.0 -

Bankruptcy could affect your chances of getting certain types of jobs - working in a bank for example. Then again, it sounds like your credit records are going to be shot to pieces anyway - which may have a similar effect.
It will definitely cause you problems if you want to get a mortgage - but seeing as you would need to save a large deposit before you could apply for one, then that will be a few years away - the blemishes on your credit record may even have disappeared by then.
It may also cause you problems getting a rental agreement as you are (often) credit checked then too. But again, your credit record will already be in tatters.
You have to think about your immediate future and your child that will be joining you soon. You need to get all your money troubles sorted before that happens. Going bankrupt and the effect it will have on your financial future should be the least of your worries. You should be more worried about how you're going to provide for and look after your girlfriend and baby - that's your immediate worries - buying a property can come later when you have found financial stability. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
