"Mis Programas"

I have just noticed on my toolbar a picture of a computer and when I run the mouse over it, it says "Mis Programas". What is it? Has it always been there? Why the foreign name? I don't dare to click on it (only did it when offline and it told me I need to get online to get to this website.
Is this something dodgy? Or am I just stupid?:confused:

left or right hand side of the tool bar?
  • Try downloading http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html
and see if you have any references to it or accesoplugin in the registry.

Are you one dial up, do you have any AV/spyware software installed?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Just googled for it.. looks like you have some malware..
I would run Ad-aware and Spybot for a kick off.
  • Am on broadband and have AV progarmme (Kaspersky). The icon is on the left next to ebay and msn. Will try the download now.

Just done it, it says 'file not found'. So can I ignore it?

Cheers Albertross.. never seen that app before. Looks very useful.
  • If you have an icon, you have something running that shouldn't be

In autoruns, what does the entry say? (you can do a file, save as, and post the log).

    I'd download https://www.ccleaner.com to have a cleanup,

    then

ewido, microsoft defender, lavasoft ad-aware and do a scan..

    see the malware sticky thread.

If you have an old style modem (not broadband), pull the phone lead out of it, in case it is a dialer.

Doesn't sound like it is activley running.
If you run a HiJackThis log you may be able to see a reference in there. Looks like it adds a button to your window (hence why you have only just seen it)
HiJackthis will help you to remove it.
  • Mis Programas File not found: deleted link to ensure nobody clicks on it
