    But if in your words he said "its totally impossible to get up the lane" it gets sticky who said what but to be honest i would still persue a refund from the owner firstly than try your insurance because they will look at this from their greedy point of view an try not to pay out Thats if your friend has insurance i often dont in uk (unless its included in my yearly international holiday insurance which i am not too sure it is) Name and shame everywhere and anywhere they advertise imho

  • If the owner cancelled the booking (contract) due to the weather, it’s their responsibility to refund.



    If the guest chooses not to go because they can't get there, that's their choice and they shouldn't get a refund. After all, the accommodation still available.



    Unless something is in writing it will be difficult to determine who said what.
