Single Fuel = no bonus

Options
I know that the utility companies want you to have both your gas and electric supply from them and that's why they offer a "Dual Fuel" bonus. What about those of us who are all electric due to there being no gas in the immediate area? This seems like we are subsidising the customers who have the option. Anyone tried to challenge the utilities on this one?

Often they give good deals in that circumstance. Check them out.
  • Npower and E.ON give 'no mains gas' discounts of about £20 per year but only to customers in their host areas.

As you only face a single switch charge you are free to switch regularly - there is almost always a bargain tariff with low tier 2 units that is being subsidised by gas users. Although I recognise your reason for the initial suspicion the truth is far more often the other way round - electricity only customers are subsidised by dual fuel tariffs.
