My First CCJ

I knew it would happen eventually but it's still knocked me back-
I got my first CCJ sent to me today from my friends at Tescos Personal Finance, great.
CCCs have been a great help but does anyone have any experience of them and CCJ's in general they could help me with? I'm stressing loads (and hence eating my way thru the pantry! )
I'm 7 months into my DMP...

Proud to be dealing with my debt?:o

don't worry love, i got my first (although so far only) CCJ from Westcot, 1 month into DMP. I just though F*** it, it doesn't matter, as my credit rating is already ruined from defaults, and i don't want any credit ever again anyway. It doesn't make a difference really, it hasn't altered the payments, so i just shrugged it off. Chin up!
  • Yeah,
I agree totally about the credit statement...I guess because I hadn't heard anyhtign rom them beofre it came as a bolt out of the blue! (duh I hear you all say!) I guess what I worry about the most is a charging order put against the house.
But thansk very much, you've helped...now, where was that chocolate...

Out of interest, were you both making regular payments when they decided to apply for a CCJ?

I have 2 CCJs - and one has an attachment of earnings order on it :o Got that before I discovered MSE, DFW and had the light bulb moment I'd like to add.

I know they kinda hit hard...they're not permanent though ;) Do you need help with the paperwork? You're always welcome to PM me for help/a chat

On the upside....work emailed me at the begining of the week...apparently they've been written to to be told to only take £68 out of my wages this month, as it's paid in full (after that payment lol) :j  :j

    Yes, I owed double that...

    Saint:
I've been making regular (although greatly reduced) payments via my DMP.

    Laura:
Sorry to sound thick-what do you mean they aren't permanent? Because they only last 6 years? I'm still getting to grips with it all...

  • Lol,
    Yeah...
Seemed to have no problem dealing with the fact I'll never have 'credit' again, (and I'm perfectly OK with that!)...
If I could only get to grips with NOT eating myself into a carb coma every time I get stressed!
    But thanks.
Were all of yours accepted or did you have to go to court in the end?

  • One was accepted no problems. (Capital One)

One (GE Captial - Dotty P storecard :o ) didn't like the £50 I offered and originally got it changed to £100, then £75 when I had the AOE order (duh...didn't pay cos I couldn't afford it lol)

Never had to go to court for either....can't wait to send off for my certificate of satisfaction now! :j
