This week seems to have gone soooo quickly!

    The plan is...

Monday - pasta with broad beans and bacon

Tuesday - chicken burger with salad and potato wedges

Wednesday - chilli with rice/jacket potato (need to do some shopping, so depends what I get)

Thursday - sausages, roasted vegetables and cous cous

Friday - last day at work until Boxing Day! We're having a buffet before we finish, so if I am still hungry i'll probably have some Super Noodles

Saturday - lasagne with garlic bread

    Sunday - chicken laksa
    Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

    Hey,
I cannot believe its almost the end of the year-scary stuff! This week has been a complete disaster-what with buying a GINORMOUS joint of beef and then one person missing we had a lot more beef leftover than planned, then OH was feeling bit poorly yesterday so we had a takeaway instead of the planned veggie curry, which we had tonight but with a tub of sauce from waitrose (a very good indian one-karachi-very nice would buy again but only if reduced to 50p again!) and some beef-so not a very veggie veggie curry :rotfl:Hopefully next week will be slightly better

The (hopeful) plan for next week is
Sunday- boiled bacon, mash and veg
Mo-Bacon and cheese omelette, chips, salad
Tu-Basa with a pesto crust, roasted gnocchi, carrots and kale (or peas)
we-OH is out, I'll have pork and broc lasagne salad
    Th-pasta with rich beef ragu
    Fr-coriander cod with carrot pilaf
Sa-mustard roasted sausage and parnsips with onion gravy, kale and mash
Su-Roast chicken, brocolli, mashed swede and roast potatoes

Its all a bit meat heavy, but in winter we do tend to eat slightly more hearty meals, hopefully once we get used to being back in the cold we might eat a little less of it (although the pasta sauce only has a small amount of meat in it.... its what was left over after an italian brisket pot roast-lots of sauce and a small bit of brisket shredded into it, so at least its not a classic 250g beef steak!)
  • Had to fish out the thread today - hope everyone is well! This week:

    Thursday - leftover aubergine parmesean
Friday - friends over at ours, probubly having leek and pearl barley stew with bread and baked apple for desert. Havent decided whether to have a main course in the middle, but will decide later. Friend can be a bi flakey, so if they dont show, more leftovers for us!
Saturday - Dinner at a friends, I love playing come dine with me!
Sunday - leftover stew or chili from freezer
Monday - Pasta with HM aubergine sauce
Tuesday - out for free carol concert, suspect we'll eat whatevers in the fridge or freezer when we're home
Wednesday - vege rissotto with salad or steamed veg from freezer
    Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Yay - Another week! I looked everywhere for this yesterday lunchtime! Looks like I was too early...! Last week went well until yesterday when we had to take the cats to the vets! £55 poorer and it looks like there is more to come!

    Saturday 11th - I have a Date with my Husband :D
Sunday 12th - Chicken Soup with HM Bread
Monday 13th -Leftover Soup and Bread

    Sunday 19th - Visiting Gran

My Gran WAS coming down on the 17th, but with the weather coming in she is scared she won;t make it home for Christmas, so if the weather is good... we are going to visit her... which changes the meal plan!

    IT'S NEARLY CHRISTMAS :D

I'm a bit late with mine this week, but here goes:

Friday - pizza, from the supermarket takeaway counter (it was meant to be :xmastree: night to get it in place before my sister visited: she's not now coming until next week so the tree can wait until tomorrow, but I can't be bothered to rearrange my meal plan now :o)
Saturday - fish and chips, from the takeaway. :o Well, it is nearly Christmas! ;)
Sunday - boiled bacon, chips and baked beans
Monday - bacon and onion suet roll with veg
Tuesday - bacon and lentil stew with HM bread

    Wednesday - bean burger puff
Thursday - out for lunch (first of two work Christmas meals); sandwich or similar for dinner (if I need anything, depending on where we end up going for lunch)

    Have a good week, all.
Back after a very long break!

Hi all, not posted on here for ages!

Trying to use up all the random bits and pieces of meals that I've got lying around before I head to my mums for Christmas, which will probably be some time next week depending on the weather.

    • macaroni cheese (to use up cheese)
    • lamb curry x2 (frozen lamb)
    • spag bol (frozen sauce)
    • sausages, mash & beans (frozen sausages)
    • ginger beef, noodles & stir fried veg (beef been lying in freezer for god knows how long!)
    • scampi, wedges & peas
lunches will be: toast, sandwiches, mini pizza made with tesco value pitta bread that were reduced to 4p :money:soup or leftovers

I'll make a rice pudding and some mince pies for desserts and I've also got a tub of Ben and Jerrys Chunky Monkey to use up before I go away :D what a shame...
  • I'm going to have to join this thread to reign me in. I'm a MFW (having become debt free last month)saving for a new house so grocery food is one of 2011 areas to cut back in! I food shop twice a week as I cannot focus too far in advance and find I waste food when I do weekly shops.

Today - weekly fish and chip treat
    Sunday - lasagne and salad
    Monday - chicken fajitas
Tuesday - Pasta with pesto and salad
Wednesday - mushroom risotto and salad

I only need to buy chicken and pasta as I have everything else. I'll make two lasagnes so I can freeze one. I'll make an apple crumble later for pudding which will last as many days as it's there!

Another one here who has missed a few weeks. I am trying to eat purely from the freezer and use up as much as possible so meals are odd combinations and annoyingly more meat than I would like BUT its only for the next few weeks then I can get back to what I'd like to be eating.

    Monday
    L - San choi bao
    D - Steak baguette

    Tuesday
    L - cheese sanwiches
D - pea soup and chicken roll

    Wednesday
    L - BLT pitta
    D - Chilli wraps

    Thursday
L - mac cheese and ham
    D - mum and dads

    Friday
    L - chicken curry soup
D - Plate pie and mash

ALL of this is from the freezer (including bread, mash - everything) all I may need to buy is cheese for the sandwiches (mac cheese sauce is already in freezer)

Breakfasts as always will be fruit/cereal/toast.
