Holiday abroad - to take pram or not?

Our airline damaged our pushchair so badly it's irreparable; we were only lucky that it happened on the return trip or else we'd have spent our holidays without any means of transport for her.
I'd take a carrier and not risk it if your baby's only small; for an older child I'd recommend buying one of the basic cheap umbrella strollers. I am constantly cursing myself for having bought a travel bag for my lovely pushchair instead of a cheap folding pushchair to take with us.
Alternatively, in many places it's possible to rent a pram; could you contact your hotel or travel agent and see if they know anywhere that'll take care of that for you?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I would rent, or buy a cheap stroller over there that you can then donate or give away.Forever I will sail towards the horizon with you0

Could you get a cheap pushchair on ebay with a seat that reclines back so baby can lie down? Then leave it over there when you come back.
