Florida toll roads...

For those who have been to Florida and rented a car...
When it came to toll roads etc. did you always pay cash or did you use the E Pass? If you got the E pass...did you get it thru the car hire company or did you buy it elsewhere?
Arriving in Orlando (mco) and driving up to Daytona for a few days then back down to Orlando for a few days so I was just wondering what others have done in regards to tolls there.
Cheers.

I always pay in cash at the tolls, if you are paying cash then try and take some smaller notes with you for the booths on your journey to accommodation.

I thought you paid a premium to get the E pass from the hire company? The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

We just used cash, some of them have a bucket you throw the coins into which is fun, others have attendants ( we got change from them at the first stop off)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
Balance 19th April '07 = minus £27,640
Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.0 -

I don't think there are any tolls on the journey from Orlando to Daytona, it is straight up the I4. Not sure whereabouts you are staying in the Orlando area, so maybe one or two around there :question:Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T0 -
it probably works out cheaper to pay cash but i found some toll booths on the turnpike were e-pass only.
for me the e pass is so convenient as you only need to slow down for the plaza rather than Q up.
got it from Alamo think it was $20 for 2 weeks.0 -

We used Hertz and an E-Pass although am still waiting for a bill for the tolls0

Thanks to everyone for the info.
We are using Dollar car hire. Thier website says it's $5.99 a day for unlimited tolls but I am not sure we will be hitting tolls everyday so I might just stick with paying cash!
Again, thanks for all the info. folk and Happy Holidays

Would just use cash - we have driven many miles in florida and dont think have spent $6 a day on tolls - take your satnav and get a usa map from amazon or hire one - it will give you best routes to use - toll free and not out of your way - would be wary of the epass - seem a bit pricey to me
