Improve Dongle Signal

As the name implies......

Anyone know if its possible to improve signal strength

    Using a USB extension lead may enable you to get it in a better position (maybe outside through a window).

    Some have a connector for an antenna but they don't come cheap.

    The various reflector designs on the web for WiFi aerials will be close enough to the correct size for 3G to work fairly well or you could even scale one up by a factor of 2400/2100 (inverse ratio of frequencies used).

    Here's a sample tinfoil wifi reflector - http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/Ez-10/

    Just stick the dongle where the wifi rod antenna would go. These are directional and need turning around to find the best signal.
