Where in London would you choose to live?

  • Sorry to hear about what has happened. I'll pm you the details of an advert that appeared last week on our office intranet for a houseshare in Balham, within your budget. I don't know the people who live there, but it might be worth a call anyway. As others have suggested, try some internet sites and, of course, there's always the Loot paper to take a look at. Good luck!

How can you afford to run a car and pay £500 rent (even if inc bills) - what do you live on ?

Me, I'd flog the car, rent in Clapham (walking distance) and look for a better paying job than £15K a year in central London.....

To answer your question I wouldn't choose to live in London and certainly if I was not on a top notch salary (eg £40K+) as thats what it would take to make me live there.

Being serious though I think given the amount you have to spare there really isn't much choice but to live either in a "house share" environment or move further afield (which then means you spend more on travel).
