Bosch Dishwasher stopped working please help

Hi
I have a bosch exxcel sgs46e02gb/75 dishwasher.

It stopped working yesterday. I had a small puddle on the floor and the dishwasher had stopped half way through. Just had cold water left in the machine.

The check water light is on. I have tried to reset it and it has slowly emptied the water out. No more water on the floor. Also when i open the door the pump noise is still going!

It is only about 2 years old, could it be something simple or do i just need a new one??????

Please can any one help
:j

If its full up inside the internal anti-flood float switch has operated and turned it off. Bale it out.

If its clear inside check the base of the unit - this will mean removing a fornt cover or the plinth if its integrated. If it has water in there then just get it out - space will be limited so it will probably mean a sponge. There is an anti-flood float switch down there as well which when it operates switches the beastie off.

This happens because the waste pipe gets clogged up wth gunge, congealed fat and all sorts of other things. When it blocks the inside fills up. Before that happens the water also leaks through the where the lower rotating arm rotates.

Clear those two areas of water and see if it runs now. 99% it will. Now use a DW cleaner and run it without any dishes etc inside to get the pipe clean then you'll be OK. If it doesn't run with those two areas free of water you need someone to look at it.

    Cheers

A 2 year old Bosch gone faulty, hmm! Presumably this will be one of the high quality and expensive German Appliances that various people on here seem to think are so marvellous.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • Silly Q how do i get the front plinth off???

There are probably some simple metal clips holding it in place. Before you force it, though, double check for any hidden screws!

We had a lot of fun with our Bosch - turned out the salt cap was put on too tight, blocking the water coming into it... might be worth trying to rule that one out since it's a quick one? (Still love the dishwasher of supreme awesomeness though)

  • Just has the same problem as DizziBlonde.

Dishwasher had been out of action all week after I removed the removable internal parts for cleaning refitted them.

This morning by chance I removed the salt filler cap and switched the dishwasher back on and it started working again :j!
