female neatering what to expect

my girl dog is getting neatered at the moment and vey woried about her, what can i expect when i get her back this afternon eg will she be sleepy, will she need fed and what, when will she be better, thanks

She will be drowsy and feeling very sorry for herself! Don't worry, she will still be talking to you!
We were advised to keep ours on a bland diet for a few days, we just gave her chicken and pasta/rice.
Your vet will give you all the information you need but thought I would answer as I asked a similar question earlier in the year and no one bothered to reply.
Fingers (and paws) crossed for a speedy recovery!

thanks you are the only one to answer she is asleep on the couch and has been since i broght her home 3 hours ago , going to try her with some pasta for dinner0

Mine was sleepy for that eveing and then back to normal in the morning. She didn't eat the evening I got her home but wanted breakfast and was normal from then on.

Pepper was the same no food last night but back to normal today0

Just make sure she doesn't start licking the scar - mine did and ended up with an infection! Other than that, pretty quick recovery though.

You should by now have an aftercare sheet from your vets but you should try and feed her a bland diet as the previous poster suggested and also make sure she doens't jump around when she feels better but takes it easy whilst her stitches are healing.0
