Best way to invest large sum

I am remortgaging my flat ro invest the capital in buy to let properties etc and want to know the best place to invest it. Most of it around 60k will be in for around a year 20k may need to be removed at around 1months notice. Whats best bank account wise etc. What sort of percentage can I get?

I think there is an ICESave account around as well, and the Yorkshire account I don't think is available to new investers.Indecision is the key to flexibility

If you can keep the £60K locked away for a whole year then consider a fixed rate bond. Just in the process of locking some money away for a year with West Bromwich BS - http://www.westbrom.co.uk/westbrom/home - that is paying 5.65% gross, but the money cannot be accessed for a whole year which is something you would need to consider.
Birmingham Midshires has a easy access savings account paying 5.2% for the rest of the money.
