The only legal bank notes in the UK are Bank of England notes the rest are illegeal and shops can say nope we are not taking that.0

That is complete rubbish, there is a load of places registered to dispense legal tender, which includes England, Scotland and Northern Ireland (I don't think Wales has one, and I am not sure if the Isle of Man currency is still being made)0

No really the only notes that are legal is Bank of England. Google it if you dont believe it.0

Scottish and Northern Ireland banknotes, and Jersey, Guernsey, Manx and Gibraltar coinage and banknotes are not legal tender in England and Wales. However, they are not illegal under English law and creditors and traders may accept them if they so choose.
Thats what I was trying to get to, but I heared it on BBC Working Lunch one day.0
