Silly question but in our house we have 2 cars I am the main policy holder on one and my partner named and then the other he is main and I am named and they are with different insurance companies.
If I am driving the car where I am the named driver if I have an accident do i give my insurance details of the policy I have where I am the main driver or the Insurance details of the policy that insures that car where I am the named driver?

You would need to give the details for the vehicle. If you had an accident in your partners car you would give his insurance details.
If you are in an accident, the most important thing to note down is the other drivers registration number as insurance companies can trace the other insurer from the reg.0
