Cheap Xbox 360 Elite deals anywhere?

I've asked for one for christmas and being the budding saver, I'd like to tell my mum (bless her) the cheapest place to get one.

Google shopping has yielded some results but I don't know how trustworthy some of the sites are.

Any ideas?

or get a xbox slim from anywhere for 150 that has the wireless adaptor built in and you can upgrade the hard disk later on in life

Please don't buy an elite. Get the new slim instead. It has far better thermal design and wont suffer from the RROD of the older models. In addition, its also way way quieter.

thats not quite true as my slim had the ring of death 3 days after owning but its pretty rare

althought its a green lights instead of red just took it back and walked out with a new one

Crap. I meant the new one.

If I get the 4gb one, can I upgrade it later? Does it HAVE to be an Xbox one or can you put in any compatible one like with the PS3?

by the time you come to upgrade you will be able to use an ordinary sata quite easily there is word out that new disk caddys are being made to allow this or at least to replace the holder you cut up


i have a ordinary sata in my xbox slim but i have had to cut it up a bit

Would that be because you did the same as the guy on Youtube and not leave the side/top with a good four or five inches of clear space? He put his next to his AV unit vertically orientated, the end result being that it blocked the exhaust vent which is no longer on the back.
