To be fair most of the time the way to make profit in any retail type of environment, including ebay, is to sell something in volume. That generally means buying in bulk up front and that means an initial outlay.
You may get lucky and buy something for a few quid in a charity shop or boot sale and sell it for a couple of hundred quid but this will not happen with the regularlarity you require to make a living, or even a decent profit.
Your best bet is to hobby sell on ebay to start and not expect big returns. If you make a bit of cash doing this then maybe reivest that in some stock that will sell on ebay..An finding that is the hardest part of all.
Im off to carry on searching for that golden egg to list this afternoon.
