Interlink!

so flipping angry right now, am going to be in so much trouble with my boss.

We was due to attend an event and have a stand there. As we were flying up, we sent our parcel through interlink Direct. The conference was in Edinburgh.

Interlink picked up the parcel, took it to the Edinburgh depot where it got "stuck" due to the snow.

Sent emails to Interlink Direct (no contact number) and they are meant to respond within 2 hours, I got none so I rang interlink on the 25th November and explained that the conference had also been cancelled due to the snow, as the parcel was in the depot could the return it to Nottingham. All was fine - got a confirmation email saying that I could have it collected and it would be back in our office on the 7th december.

6th December I came into work to have an email saying the parcel was delivered to Edinburgh. It was signed by security staff (no one else in) - I tried to get back in touch with interlink direct, eventually had to ring Interlink. They advised me that it was their fault, the re-arranged for it to be collected (free of charge) and returned to Nottingham on the 8th. I rang the security guard yesterday at 4pm, no one had been yet. I have come into work today, had an email saying "no one has collected it"

Now i NEED this parcel back by Monday (we have an event on Tuesday)

Interlink are telling me "we will TRY and get it back but we cannot gaurantee it"

I've rang other courier companies, they can collect, I'm going to have to get it collected by another company but surely we should be stuck with the cost for this?

Customer Services are usless - They wont escalte my call and keep telling me to "email" interlink direct with any complaint i have (even though they dont reply!)

Any help?

  • I appreciate that you're angry but really, have you seen the problems they're having with snow in Scotland at the moment?

All these delivery companies will have clauses absolving them of responsibility for late delivery of items as a result of extreme weather, and the snow will certainly qualify.

Can't say I blame them to be honest looking at some of the other threads complaining about late deliveries over the last week. Surely people don't realistically expect snowed-in parcel depots and stranded delivery vans to get items to people as quickly as they would in good weather?

they managed to deliver it ok on the 6th though even though it was 300 miles in the wrong direction :) and I told them 2 weeks ago to return it to us
There are other couriers in the area who are getting through fine - we are planning on using one of these, but surely Interlink should pay as they actually delivered it to the wrong address (have email saying they wouldnt deliver it to edinburgh and return it to us)
  • Couldn't agree more that interlink are useless.
As a logistics company they have failed to cope with weather and xmas rush.
My delivery is 10 days overdue.
Worse than that they have so little control over tracking parcels and being able to say whether an item is being delivered. Their online tracking system is (deliberately?) misleading.
Of course there is no come back.
Do not use interlink - and ask your suppliers not to use them in future.
All other delivery companies have managed yet their systems have failed.
