Ebay Dispute opened mid Oct still waiting refund

Hi Can anyone give me some advice as to how to progress an Ebay refund?
Without being too specific I opened a SNAD dispute in mid Oct, seller refused a refund.
It is a relatively high value item - approaching £1k.
It has dragged on. Eventually Ebay sent me a returns prepaid parcel notice, when it was delivered it was supposed to be updated on the Ebay system and then a refund would be issued. It was delivered signed for a fortnight ago.
Every time I phone/email Ebay I get told it is on hold whilst they verify delivery.
7 days ago I was told that it had to go to the management team to authorise a refund (because it was a large amount) and the money would be refunded in 3 days.
Still nothing, in the meantime the seller has both the item and the money.
Please, what can I do next???

What is happening on the seller's side? I would imagine they are fighting this tooth and nail.

keep the pressure on ebay though and point out their rules. I would keep phoning and point out you now have no money or item and have returned it as they requested and can prove it's receipt.
Just to add this shows why it's far easier to open disputes in Paypal.0 -
Thanks both of you for your replies. I wondered if it might come to a small claims case. Anyone know the geographical address of Ebay UK?
AFAIK seller only responded once within the allowed 10 days of the dispute.
I have followed Ebay instructions and they have promised me that they will refund me and then they will recoup the money from the seller. However the refund seems to be lost in their system.
I didn't realise I should have gone down the road of Paypal refunds in preference to Ebay refunds. I would like to say that I shall know for next time, but I will never use Ebay for an expensive item again.0 -
eBay UK is based in Luxembourg with CS reps in Ireland (the mods on the forums are certainly Irish) so you might be out of luck.
Bringing a claim against the seller directly through small claims is a better idea.

I would keep calling ebay, until you get through to someone who will do something.0

I would always do it via paypal, but another thread suggests that they will just refer you back to ebay. it does try and direct you to ebay to resolve a problem, however if you look just below the massive banner it does have in the small print you can also open a dispute with paypal (or words to that effect)0

Not hijacked just another question about eBay claims, better we ask similar questions in a thread, than open loads of threads and clutter the site... in which case the threads would be merged anyway.
Actually it might be easier to open new threads for specific questions as sometimes it isn't easy to follow which one you are answering.
