CD DVD Burner recommendations

What programmes do you recommend for burning movies. Im using nero but it is taking an hour to burn approx 700mb to dvd.

I use imgburn for burning to discs fairly simple to use, if its taking 1 hours to burn a disc is this the actual burning process as that would sound more like your dvd burner might either be on its way out or has a slow speed.

I used to have Nero but I found it to be a pain to use.

I've now got Cd Burner Xp which is excellent and also free.

It'll be taking that long because its having to convert whatever the source file is into VOB files and TS files so it can be read on a DVD player.

As already pointed out, it sounds like you are doing more than burning, you are most likely converting to DVD which is what is taking most of the time. A new DVD burner isn't going to speed that up, only a faster PC will.

Try Nero Info Tool to show what capabilities your drive has. If it's a x16 burner then that is sufficient and a new one won't really speed up the process, certainly not significantly.
