I met the nicest taxi driver ever this morning on the Lisburn Road. I only asked him directions while he was parked having a cuppa, i started walking, was up the road a bit and he came after me, stopped the car, said he had found out i was going in the wrong direction and gave me a lift! Now how was that for helpful.
Thank you mr value cab, company will defo get my business in future.

My mate's daughter, in her 20's, slipped outside a garage in High St Bangor on Sat night and broke her arm. Her b/f called a taxi to get her to hospital. On the way the b/f asked the driver to stop at an atm to get him the fare; driver said don't worry about money let's just get this girl to hospital. No details given or fare asked for - what a good samaritan.

I was in the Royal having tests done and my DW brought my mum up to visit me. As it happened there was an incident involving a gas cylinder and the whole area was in chaos that meant they could not get into the main carpark and had to park a good bit away. After seeing me they went to get back to the car and it was chucking it down. They got a taxi and he took them back to the car and would not take any money. I "think" this was Value Cabs too! so once again I have been using them since. (even for pickups at the City Airport)

  • Not a taxi related but a good samaritan none the less, last week when going for our shopping my daughters car over heated, shes only passed her test a few months and i am next to usless where cars are concerned so we had no idea what to do. We pulled over bonnet up when a young (ish)english man in a white van pulled in to help. He checked the car over filled it with water explained that there was ice in the pipes and even though he was traveling in the other direction followed us to make sure we got home ok. Nice to know that there are still good guys out there. So big thank you to Mr white van man.

  • Good to read such good stories ! On the other side of the coin, I have experienced bad times with Fona Cab. I obtained one of those fobs giving the 25% off, but the attitude of some of the drivers when you produce the thing has been pretty shocking. Most notably, I recently had a trip where the driver (involuntarily) used a short part of a bus lane in order to get to destination sooner. (He maybe saved about a minute by doing this) When we arrived he then snapped that he would have thought about doing that if he had known that I had one of those money off fobs ! Unbelievable !!
A couple of my mates actually stopped using the things as they felt it was creating too bad a vibe when producing it ! Really bad.

Are Value Cabs still starting their metres at £2-40 ?? Might well begin using them....!

I took a fonacab home last friday purely because of hte 25% off fob. When I produced my 25% fob I was told that they had stopped using them from 30th November - is this true or was the taxi driver taking advantage of my rather intoxicated state?

Apparently so, yeah. Not sure if they'll resume after the Xmas period or not...
  • Don't think they have stopped using them thetope no expiry date on it. We have used the fob a few times and has been accepted no prob but I have heard of others having probs. Nice people about :)
  • I was walking down the Dublin Road after a few shandies one Sunday night when my handbag was stolen from my arm by some Sandy Row 13 year old spide.

Two value cab drivers saw what happened and gave chase. I sat on the pavement like an emotional wreck. One of them pulled up and said "does this belong to you, love?" Never have I been mored thankful to see a taxi in my life, the driver in fact too me home and wouldn't take a penny for the journey.
NO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE :D:D
