Just looking for some advice, moving into employers flat, getting rent very reasonable, its part of big complex, so need to make a contribution to gas/electric.
Is a 2 bed flat
Has gas central heating, gas hob, electric oven.

Can't you ask the employer what the typical charge for gas & electric was in the past on the particular flat?
I presume the gas & electric is recorded centrally for all flats? If so, the normal system is to pay your share i.e. if there are 10 flats you will pay 1/10 of the total cost. (unless there are sub-meters)
If the flat is individually supplied, then are you sure you won't be expected to have the accounts put in your name? It's often best then you can pay for what you use, and more importantly are able to shop around for the best deal"Now to trolling as a concept. .... its compliated, normally flat used by volanteers so no charge, but as we r employed expected to make a contribution, which is fair, they have said £125 a month for gas electric and water not sure if thats a lot or not??? for a 2 bed flat??Im not financially savvy as im still learning but i love to support anyone that needs it and give virual hug's and tea!!!Can't do Bickie's Sorry, need to lose weight!!!Challenge 1 : Sealed Pot Challenge, No : 810Challenge 2 : Dragon's wake up callChallenge 3 : Aug 8/15 NSD's0

Hmmm.... it may be a little high, but of course it depends on how much you will use.
If you are not extravagent I would have guessed at say £400 electric per year, £400 gas per year and perhaps £200 water (the water may be more if metered as there are 4 of you)
So that's say £1000 per year.
Perhaps £100 per month would be a suitable compromise?
Edit: Ultimately it would depend on how easy you think it would be to negotiate.
I suppose the strictly correct approach would be to say you would only pay your fair share (e.g. 1/10 if there are 10 flats) and get the employer to show you the total bill as he isn't supposed to make a profit from reselling, but I don't feel this is that sort of situation here. As you say it's complicated, and perhaps not all the flats are the same size or used the same ... and with the employer not charging the other occupants then he's not making a profit anyway."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
