Chrysler Voyager (American style) faulty brakes

Does anyone know the answer to this. I bought a Chrysler Town and Country (The US version of a Voyager) in the US two years ago and shipped it back. V happy with it BUT it keeps on needing new brake disks and pads - every 6000 miles of so there is a terrible grating sound and the dealer says this is what is needed - at a great expense each time. Can this be normal?Should the garage be doing something extra to get to the real fault of the problem? It is an automatic - I drive fairly normally, i.e. don 't brake at the last moment. What can I do? This car will probably end up bankrupting me. Any solutions?

Have you tried to taking it to a different mechanic? Sounds like your dealer is rubbing his hands every time he sees you. You may have a sticking caliper which is wearing the pads out quickly, the grating sound is possibly the pads wearing right down to the metal backing plate OR just the brake wear indicator. The discs may be getting changed for no reason....0

I had one of those in Canada and I was replacing disks and pads every year. They are big, heavy cars with no engine braking (auto box), so they're pretty hard on brakes. What goes around - comes around0
