Virgin flights - crystal balls please

Any idea if/when the next Virgin flight sale is due. I'm looking to fly into San Fran (has to be a Saturday) and out of LA (has to be the Sunday a fortnight later) any set of dates in August or September. My only stips are its in PE and from Heathrow, but I dont know if flights will shoot up in the New Year or if there will be a price war as people will be holding back due to the VAT rise.
Am a flying club member but dont know if there's a pattern to when the offers go out.
Thanks in advance for digging out your crystal balls!

VAT is not charged on airline tickets, so this should not affect prices.
however, as you say in your title, it is impossible to predict as and when prices will change, and all i wouold suggest is that when you see a price you are happy with, book it.
as an alternative, have you looked at doing it as a package holiday fly drive? availibility for LA / SF are not showing on the virgin holiday website as yet, however when it does, check it out as a flydrive, but with cheapest car and no insurance. then just forget about the car. Benefits of this is that you can usually pay just a deposit and normally gaurantees the fare, and sometimes through the holiday system, PE upgrade can sometimes be cheaper than doing it as a flight only with the airline.

No only need flight, not accomodation or car but thanks for the thought.
What time of year do the airlines normally launch their sales?0 -
There is usually a BA and Virgin sale immediately after Christmas but they don't usually include August in the sale dates as these book early and usually at a very high price. September might be cheaper but your insistance on flying at weekends means you will be paying weekend supplements both ways anyway.0

The flights can be cheaper, you don't need to pick up the car or stay in the accommodation, it is worth looking to.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

Thanks Del that will be much appreciated.
As for my "insistence" on travelling at weekends, I have to because of other parts of my trip, I'm not being awkward on purpose0
