Well done, you! I should warn you that you've set down a path which can get quite addictive. (I speak as someone who once made over half a ton of marmalade, jams, jellies and chutneys in the course of a year which I sold at work to raise funds for BHF!) Seville Orange marmalade is wonderful but, as you know, the season is very short. (As long as you are scrupulous about sterilising the jars/lids and using wax discs it will keep for ages so it's worth making several batches while they're in season. I'm still using some I made in 2007 and have - in the past - kept some for 10 years + which was still fine!) A fairly good alternative - which you can make year-round - is Three-Fruit; a mixture of sweet oranges, grapefruit and lemons.0

Three fruit...mmmmm...one of my and my families all time favourites! I have to be very restrained and keep some back to take over to Spain every year for my partners parents...thinking about making some now.....Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0 -
Ok, I am going to attempt to make this marmelade today in the hope to salvage some grapefruits taht where in my fruit bowl for 2 months...
Once the fruit is boiled - do you need to remove the skins from the segments? Won't they make the jam bitter if you don't?... Sorry if it is silly, but I never made grapefruit marmalade!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I just made marmalade as there were 6 seville oranges in my fruit and veg box. I did this very easy method re the peel. Sqeezed all with an electric squeezer and the pips were so easy to separate. Then got out my os porkert mincer and minced the skin and pith. The marmalade is fantastic. I only had ordinary cheapo sugar but added a nob of butter when the foam was going up the pan. It settled down and I have lovely clear marmalade.0
