our income is less than yours and we have a family of 4, just make sure you budget wisely, Maternity Allowance isnt taken into consideration when working out TC so you'll probably find like we have that this period of Mat leave is when we are in the best finacial positon! Were going to be so much worse off when I go back to work!

I've just had a quick look on john lewis website for you and they have moses baskets reduced to £59 in their sale complete with covers.

I personally from experience wouldnt bother with a moses basket esp wouldnt pay £59 for one!!

E was only in his moses basket for 2 weeks then had to go into his cot cos he was too big (granted I know thats not the case for most babies) but.

If you did want a moses basket £59 is far too much money, even if it does come with sheets!

ETA I followed the link posted and you mistyped the amount its £39

Thanks for all the replies, we got given a moses basket it is the bedding we need for it, but the pillowcase seems a good idea!

We really don't need much else, pram is getting bought by my gf's parents which is a great help. We have still spent alot but I can't take that away from my gf as it's her first baby and she is obviously excited as am I.

I am so glad we have money in the bank as if we didn't I would be panicking alot more

Amazon offer a subscribe and save deal..... You get an extra 10% off whatever you subscribe to, such as:

We buy pampers sensitive wipes, a box of 9 packs of wipes cost about £5 and you can choose how often you want them sending. Obviously as bubs isn't here yet, I cancel my next delivery and wait til they have an offer on, then ask for a box sending.....

It might sound confusing, but if you go to Amazon, have a look at the wipes (think they're £6.65 for 9 packs at the minute), less a further 10% if you subscribe and save..... I usually wait until they're about £5.50 a pack then get them delivered for about a fiver......

I don't know how or why our gas and electric is so cheap. I have even phoned British Gas to ask why (in case we get hit by a mega bill) but they have taken our meter readings each month and do their own every now and then and they insist it is right.

The direct debit is £10 gas £8 electric and we are even in credit by about £120.

We live in new build flat on the 2nd floor of 3. Maybe we get heat coming from around us or something. Im not complaining

We found our moses basket really useful because you could move it around the house so easily, my daughter was in it until about 10-12 weeks old when she went in to her own room.

Don't forget about a sterilizer, my wife was adamant she was going to breast feed then give up because the baby was losing so much weight and I had to run out and buy one, we hadn't thought of it before.

£18 sounds way to cheap for electric and gas.

    Good luck with the baby!
