Ipod touch battery

Hello I have an 18 month old ipod touch and the battery is suddenly poor at keeping its charge. How much does it cost to replace and does it have to go to Apple?

Thanks

It's out of warranty now so you can do it yourself. It's quite fiddly but you can get a battery and install it.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

if i were you i would take to apple store i think they charge £30 for battery change.

it can be done but you need safe opening tools to open them up and will also need some soldering skills to desolder old and solder the new on logik board.

There are some 3rd party services that send you a box to take to post office and have an all in price of around £40 to do the replacement. The battery alone would cost about £14 anyway so that's about £26 for labour and post.

Apple advise that you discharge & recharge the bat once a month to extend it's life (rather than leave permanently plugged into charger lead).
