Wireless - New HP Laptop

Hi,
I think I've done most of the obvious things but thought it was worth checking, if anyone can think of anything else then I'd appreciate it. I've bought a new HP laptop it came with a Broadcom 802.11a/b/g WLAN wireless card and I'm connecting to a Belkin router. I have two PC's and the other PC doesn't have any problems connecting. The new HP laptop won't connect at first (the wireless network is set to automatic), if I leave it for about 5 minutes it appears to realise it should be connecting and does! If I try to manually connect the connection screen appears but it just sits there saying it's connecting - it obviously isn't getting to the router because it does e same thing if I put the wrong password in! Sometimes if I disable the wireless card and then enable it starts to work, other times it won't. The only way I can always get it to work is to login as admin and use the repair feature in windows (it's XP Pro), though it takes 2 to 3 goes.
I've tried updating the driver but it says it has the best one, has anyone got any other ideas?
Thanks in advance....

Microsoft have a network diagnostic tool available to download here.

This is a common fault with Broadcom 802.11a/b/g WLAN wireless cards..
I had this with a HP nx6325 to a Netgear wifi router...
Go to Hp UK and download the latest Broadcom driver...This should solve this problem0 -
Thanks to all, HP Auto update said I was using the latest driver but a manual search found a later version on their website, installed and this has solved the problem.
