I'm off to get the mag and the palette at lunchtime - gonna use it as an Xmas pressie for the girlfriend.

I don't think I have any fears about them pushing me into having a makeover as I'm male!!

    Great spot Kat.
  • Thanks for the tip!

I got the magazine yesterday evening as soon as I heard and then dashed to Brent Cross as I had time to kill before visiting a mate who lives nearby.

In Boots there was nobody at the Benefit counter (it was 7pm) and no-one could help. Then I went to Fenwicks and was practically passing out hoping I could get a palette. The Benefit lady took my page and said there were only green ones left. That was fine. She even bagged it up and that was it.

If you do get asked to have a makeover have one anyway as the make up is nice (had some before - and they always give samples) or get a guy to collect one. :rotfl:

    Thanks!

Ps. the palette seems really good - there is a similar one now on sale for Christmas. Full price.

Went into Boots Cambridge with 1yr old in buggy and 3 yr old loose trying to get her fingers into as many testers as poss. Asked harrassed looking SA about promotion to be told I had to have a makeover, she didn't have time then and I should phone and book one for after 4pm. (Yeah like these two will sit quietly and entertain themselves for 20 minutes when it's nearly their tea time!) If she's so busy why not just give me the freebie and I'm outta there!

Will try Debenhams tomorrow with more courage having read this thread to say 'sorry I have two small children with me, let's skip the make-over shall we?!'

Well I've just been to Boots Southampton (who have quite a few left but no pink ones). I got the pallette but she tried to make out you have to have a makeover (even though I pointed out to her that it absolutely does not say that as worded).

Ultimately ur not really in a position to argue because it is free after all. However there's nothing to stop you making the appointment for a later date making out you don't have time at present, collecting the pallette there and then and then not turning up for the appointment...

Sure, no problem :). Debenhams has a Benefit counter, but I don't want to try there unless I have to as it seems that its Debenhams that are really pushing the makeovers

Galileo I reckon the woman I saw would've told me I couldn't have the thing until the make over! As you say though, worth a go, will try Debenhams if I get time tomorrow. I bought the mag with my Boots points anyway so it's not the end of the world...

Thanks Funky Feet but rude SA was in Boots, haven't tried Deb's yet. Good luck! I should have been more insistent!
