The 2 lane merging situation is one of my biggest gripes, we brits have this stupid "oh lets all queue for 5 miles while the right hand lane is empty" mentality!
Yeah, because it's quite obvious to everyone that YOU are more important than anyone in the queue.
    I love blocking queue-jumping twtts.

Again, you're another numpty self-policing the roads. Thinking he knows best.

There are 2 lanes open for a reason! It's not for queue jumping, it's to ease congestion by enabling drivers to use both lanes up until they need to merge. If drivers zip merged correctly, instead of being jealous morons, much like yourself, there wouldn't be a problem.

Ho Ho; tell me, you wouldn't be in the habit of jumping queues, would you?

I'll use an open lane if it's available to me, just like it says to in the Highway Code. It's not queue jumping, if you want to sit there going nowhere then feel free lol

I take it you're in the habit of sitting in queues are you?

Everyone asking why people are flying up the outside lane down the side of a queue of traffic - that's what they - and you - are supposed to do. Read the highway code instead of coming on here and spouting off about the drivers that are doing in right. In a queuing situation (not in free flowing traffic), you should queue in all available lanes, and at the end, proceed through into the single lane from one of the multiple lanes at a time. As above, this is the zipper system, is advocated by the IAM and sortof hinted at in the Highway Code, and is also law in several countries including Germany.
Why do it? That massive queue, blocking the road, and maybe even the junction behind - it'll take up half the length, because it's twice as wide, and it will also move faster, because we won't have the attitude problem at the merge point between many of the posters above - everyone will know when it's their turn, and no-one has to stop when some jerk pushes in, or when some A-hole won't let them in etc. etc. ad nauseum! Everyone waits for the same amount of time in this system too...

    And try to police it.

They also moan when they change lanes without looking and crash.

    Ah..............the great British public.
