You can record from your freeview box by either tuning your video to your freeview box, you will then have six channels to choose from on your video. One of them will be your freeview box. Alternately if you connect the video to the freeview box with a scart lead, you can record freeview by selecting av1 or av2 as the channel on the video. If you need to record while you are out the freeview box needs to be left switched on and on the channel you need to record. Alternately, most boxes have a timer function. Using this is similar to setting your video.0

Freeview will never support more than 3 or 4 HD channels. A cheapy SD Freeview box, under £150 will be a fine bridge that can record all channels. Anyone wanting serious futuure-proof HD personal recording will need a Foxsat/Freesat solution or a cable solution. My years-old Humax SD Freeview PVR gives, as far as I am concerned, 'near' HD picture quality anyway, perfectly good for everyday viewing.0
