We are thinking of renting a 3 bed, 2 floor maisonette.

This place has what the agent described as Electric flow heating.

There is a 'unit' in a downstairs cupboard, and this generates heat which is pumped through the house via 'grids' in the walls in each room.

There is no radiators or panels in the rooms, only these 'grids' in the walls.

I took a photo of the 'unit', and I think it says on it "creda comfortaire".

Does anyone have any knowledge of these systems, and possibly how much it may cost to run?

It appears to be a warm air system, air is drawn in through the, now blocked filters and distributed via grills in the rooms.
By the look of it it may at least partially run on economy 7 on cheap night rate.

I'd ask to hear it running as it might be noisy, especially if it has not been looked after very well.

It will be more expensive to run than a gas based sytem of similar capacity by a factor of 2 to 3.

Looks like these were made during the 1970s, one or two webforums mention asbestos being used, but this may not be true.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
