NYC Feb - Broadway show

Hi guys,
Can you pls recommend where to get cheapest tickets for a show on Broadway?
We got recommended Viator by a friend who has been previously to NYC, but the shows are around £60-£70 and I was wondering whether anyone can recommend how to get them any cheaper?
Also anyone been to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets? (trip being offered on Viator site). I just wonder how long is the journey there and whether it is doable in just half a day...
Thank you

Unless there is a specific show that you 'have' to see then wait till you get there and go to the TKTS booth (there are 2) http://www.tdf.org/TDF_ServicePage.aspx?id=56
Woodbury Common took about an hour+ each way would allow a full day - have been twice - first time was worth it (bought loads), 2nd time wasn't really (bought very little)
We did one of the Viator bus tours and it was excellent0 -
Thanks, but as much as I wouldn't mind to wait until we get there I doubt that the rest of the group will want to take that risk.
They want to book it earlier rather then later..
Hour+ - yeh, you are right, it cannot be done in half a day.. How did you get there? Also through Viator? Or can you get there on normal public transport?0 -

You can get to Woodbury Common on a public Grayline bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (8th Avenue & W41 st). You can buy your tickets from the Grayline staff on the street outside (they are uniformed with ID) or from the office inside. Buses take about an hour depending on traffic. Def need a whole day, plus lots of stamina (plus a wheelie case to carry everything)! Found lots of bargains there in 2008 but didn't bother when I went this year due to lack of time and poor exchange rate at the moment.
Never booked tickets for a show but everyone recommends the TKTS booth in Times Square or at South Street Seaport.0 -

Wait until you get there and go to TKTS in Times Square or nr Pier 17. At Times Square you need to get there around the time it opens (well earlier) and join the queue for reduced priced tickets to many shows.
South Sea Seaport has no queues but offers less choice of shows.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Thank you guys.
Any outlet shopping options in the NYC as I don't think the girls will want to go shopping for the whole day?
Also - waiting until we get there for the show tickets is not an option. Any website recommendations would be very appreciated.0 -

I would agree what Woodbury Common is a full day - and a very long day of carrying bags around if you are long long suffering other half of a shoppaholic(!)
Two years ago the prices were ridiculous due to the $2 exchange rate. Now it's just very cheap compared to back home.0 -
You didnt mention what show you wanted so I couldnt check availability.
I've never understood waiting till you get there for a specific show, and wasting time waiting inline, personally I use:
broadwaybox.com
regarding woodbury commom personally I wouldnt bother the expense, $40+ per person, and the time involved just is'nt worth, personally i'd rather stay on the island get my 10% savings card from macys and have a mooch around tjmaxx and century 21.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Thank you.
We haven't all agreed on a show yet, that is why I haven't mention which one:-)
I'll check that website out.0
