Bankrupt Tomorrow????

I have been served with a bankruptcy petition by one of my creditors and it is due to be heard tomorrow. I am not attending court due to work comittments but have sent the court a letter detailing the background over the last few months and asking for the bankruptcy to be granted.
What will happen next? As I am not going to the court how will the Official Receiver get in touch? Strange feeling, knowing that one way or another it will be decided tomorrow, but without being there I will have to wait for the post I guess to see which way it went.

Not a lot in my account at the moment anyway! At the minute no one knows what bank accounts I have and they do not have any contact telephone numbers.0 -
it would be wise to set up a new bank account, a coop cashminder or barclays basic account unless you have one already, as these are the only br 'friendly' accounts, the majority of other accounts will be closed eventually. they are both basic accounts but they do the job and allow direct debits etc0

Thanks, I do have an account with Barclays, but it isn't a basic one. Do you think they will just downgrade it to a basic account. Will I still have internet banking? Would be easier as OH has business and current account with Barclays.0 -
youll have to open a new acc with them....you will though loose online bits till your bankruptcy is overWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

the coop account has internet banking, the barclays one tends only to have internet banking once you are discharged. i don't know if they will downgrade it, and i'm sure they won't if there is an overdraft outstanding.0

No there won't be an overdraft outstanding. Its not my main account, just have my child benefit paid in there. Thats why I was hoping that they might downgrade it and let me keep internet banking so that my husband can transfer money into my account when bills need to paid, that are in my name. I currently have a main account with another bank, again no overdraft but I am not sure if that bank will let me keep the account open as I have read that they are rather BR unfriendly! So I would then have to use the Barclays account as my main account when BR.confused76 wrote: »the coop account has internet banking, the barclays one tends only to have internet banking once you are discharged. i don't know if they will downgrade it, and i'm sure they won't if there is an overdraft outstanding.0 -
sadly though they'll still not provide internet banking till your discharged...and as you know barclays & the co-op are the only 2 BR freindly banksWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
