  • What's up, Stitch? This credit card business? :( Personally I think everyone loves home made things and I would love something you knitted or sewed as a Christmas pressie. Have you been on the OS board too? I've been loving the pressies under a fiver thread and there are generally loads of good home made ideas too... Or is it just general Christmas-time stress? That is no good. Please please promise you'll have a long bath and a big RELAX when you get home from work tonight. Don't push yourself too hard, missus. :(

Thank you for your kind words. It's just a build up of everything really. I've kept going since FIL died on Friday but it's hit me now. I'm tearful today, got a thumping headache and feel sick and all my boss says is "work will keep your mind off it". DH wants me to go to help MIL for a few days, but I have the chickens to think about too. It's all come at the wrong time really - not that there is ever a right time of course. :(

The Christmas stress is that I have 3 sock monkeys, a sweater and other bits to make and very little time to do them. Luckily I have all the materials so there's no additional outlay. And I do find knitting relaxing - just bung on some music and curl up in my PJs with the cat and off I go....

Today I plan to... check my items on ebay, make yogurt, continue to knit hubbies christmas pressie... hum I think that's it.

So far today I have almost finished sewing one of my daughters pressies & earned £3 by completing a questionnaire.

Greetings, all! Glad to be back on the thread after a long break for hols. Today:
    • Ate lunch from home
    • Checked online banking
    • Added up damage from hols (£200 under budget! Yay! Even managed to get all crimbo pressies while away so shouldnt be spending any more on those)
    • Going to a free poetry reading tonight with a friend
    • Aranging to go to a free xmas concert next week with friends
    • Spoke with HR about never ending process of getting transfered.
So sorry to hear about your FIL, SW. I got back from hols to the news that my grandad has passed away - also at a "bad" time as I was on the road and no one even wanted to tell me for two weeks and of course not in enough time to go to the funeral. I hope things look up for you soon and that you can be a rock for MIL even if your not physically there.

Just for you SW...I had a bad pm (it sort of deteriorated since lunch). At lunch - just as half way to bus stop for veggies - discovered dropped purse in street. No where to be found. Spent half the afternoon trying to cancel cards and then trying to figure a way to get money out of S bank with no valid id. The local branch were so bad I've put in a complaint about the manager. He had me in tears!!!!. He wanted me to take in a DWP letter and show it PUBLICALLY to the counter clerk. I refused and phoned another branch who said I still had to take it in but they'd do it privately and I have an appt for tomorrow. Praise God for my baby rainy day fund which'll be enough monies till next giro day.

Then they said my new debit cards would take 7-10 working days to come through...so I'll be lucky to get them before xmas with the post right now :(....the other bank(the one with my debts) said 3-5 working days.

The only bit of good news (apart from the lovely lady at the 2nd branch :)) was the fact that I phoned scottish hydro re my payment card (literally everything was in that purse bus pass the lot. But even with a bus pass S bank won't hand over any dosh and I'm in the black  go figure?) and they said I only had to pay £10 or something towards my next bill despite having a whoopsie middle month with the fan heater last month. So I have this winter's heating sorted :D. Storage heaters and the ?oil? heater in the bedroom and min fan heater. Simple. They will see if my payments go down next quarter to be on the safe side for winter. In fact they couldn't have been nicer. I know they're prolly not the cheapest but I can afford it and if customer service is THAT good I'm loathe to change

So nothing done this pm really. Going to try and bake this eve for Dr. C and depot shot nurses....

    Hugs

PS. Yeah SW quite agree with you about the knitting/crochet....I got folk in hospital doing it :)...

It has a psychiatric term which you can google - mindfulness - or glorified fidgeting :rotfl: (or maybe DNMS can google it LOL)
